American Eurocopter is a subsidiary of EADS North America, the United States subsidiary of EADS. American Eurocopter manufactures and markets a broad range of civil helicopters, and as of 2005 had almost a 50% share of the American market. American Eurocopter and their parent company, EADS North America, was recently awarded a $2 billion contract to build helicopters for the U.S. Army. This will add 230,000 more square feet of manufacturing and assembly space to the facility on the Golden Triangle Regional Airport.
